A
Little This and A Little That!
Schnauzerland's Black Jewel

"Julie" says
This is a Must Read!!!
I
can't believe that someone just sent this to me and I have not seen or heard
of it before!!!! This is the most honest description of a Giant Schnauzer and
Giant Schnauzer Owner I have ever Read!!!
ENJOY!
The essence of the giant schnauzer owner
Giant schnauzers are extraordinary dogs, but the owner of a giant is
of equally distinguished character. It’s no small feat caring for such
demanding, clever, and energetic canines, and the giant owner dedicates a
great amount of time and money to properly maintain his/her pets. To put it
bluntly, the owner of a giant must be physically, mentally and financially
prepared to keep such a dog.
A happy, healthy giant is an immensely gratifying companion, but the
decision to bring any dog into the home can’t be taken lightly. Quite frankly,
giants are high maintenance dogs. Due to a giant’s size, exuberance and
grooming requirements they won’t fit into all lifestyles equally well. A giant
can’t survive on affection alone, so time must be allotted for regular doses
of physical activity and mental stimulation. Giants are extremely intelligent,
and a bored giant can be just as unruly as a dog with no obedience training.
Also, a giant with pent up energy can be a very destructive creature. The
giant owner is aware that a good deal of money is spent for routine
maintenance of the dog as well: grooming, veterinarian products and
veterinarian procedures always cost more for larger dogs. For the person who
is considering a giant, these aspects must be contemplated before making the
final decision to acquire one.
A giant schnauzer’s physical and behavioral characteristics are a constant
source of fascination for the owner. The distinct silhouette of an alert
giant, standing square, is an impressive sight. The sheer intensity and
determination of a giant defending his territory will remind the owner of what
a formidable creature he can be. Thankfully, a more familiar sight is the
regal dog at rest, stretched out on his belly with the hind legs splayed.
Perhaps the head is lying on the front paws, but most likely the head is up,
ever observant, yet relaxed. When in motion, the giant owner can’t help but
marvel at the pure vitality of the dog’s springy step. This energy and
exuberance must somehow radiate from dog to human, and this may be the
explanation for why a giant is so invigorating to have around.
On the lighter side of giant ownership, the well-maintained dog rewards the
owner with gestures of "giant appreciation". A giant’s satisfaction may be
shown in subtle ways: with a gentle nudge, a head resting in the lap, by
casually reclining against the owner, or with a "giant smile". (Yes, giants do
smile.) Many giants show appreciation by assisting around the house. The giant
will take on official duties of Residential
Greeter/Ambassador/Sentry/Guardian, become a multitasking
Couch/Bed/Garbage/Flower bed/Food/Shoe Tester, and be the General Supervisor
of Residential Activities. Although a giant may have such distinguished duties
at home, he won’t always act formal and reserved. A thrilled giant will twirl
in giddy circles, he’ll use his paws to give "giant hugs" and he’ll voice his
pleasure in silly barks. Actually, whether a giant is competing in the show
ring, performing in obedience, playing in the yard or simply napping, he’ll
approach each activity with the merit that it deserves. A giant’s enthusiasm
and willingness to please is second to none.
In spite of all the efforts involved with owning a giant schnauzer, the
deep dedication that the giant gives the owner is the ultimate reward: giants
have a way of making their owner feel like the most important soul on earth.
It’s humbling to think that such a talented, intelligent, gorgeous creature
(albeit at times goofy, obnoxious, manipulative or even fearful) truly needs
them. Deep inside, both creatures know that life without the other
wouldn’t be the same. The person responsible for a giant is more than just the
owner: they are a giant schnauzer’s provider, companion, protector and
inspiration.
Does anyone out
there know who wrote this? I would like to know!!!
Hope you enjoyed
it as much as I did, and the last Paragraph is actually like scripture
in a Giant Schnauzer Bible:) I may try to write one someday in my older golden
years.

HOW
TO MAKE SCHNAUZER PIE
Take one schnauzer, roll
and play until lightly pampered,
then add the following ingredients.
1 cup patience,
1 cup understanding,
1 dab correction,
1 cup hard work,
2 cups praise
2 cups of fun
and blend well.
Heat with warmth of
your heart until raised or until schnauzer has doubled in size.
Mix with owner until
consistency is such that owner and schnauzer are one.

Adam and Eve
And the Dog and Cat
Adam and Eve said, "Lord,
when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see
you any more. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember
how much you love us."
And God said, "No problem! I will
create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a
reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot
see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this
new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite
of yourselves."
And God created a new animal to be a companion for
Adam and Eve. And it was a good
animal. And God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve
and he wagged his tail.
And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the
animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."
And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this
new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a
reflection of my own name, and you will call him "DOG."

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and
loved them. And they were
comforted. And God was pleased.
And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the
Lord and said, "Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut
and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has
indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well."
And God said, "No problem! I will create for them a
companion who will be with them forever and who will see them as they are. The
companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they
are not always worthy of adoration."
And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into
Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the supreme beings. And
Adam and Eve learned humility. And
they were greatly improved. And
God was pleased. And Dog was
happy.
And Cat didn't give a hoot one way or the other.

Lots of people want to ride with you in the

limo breaks down.

Be peaceful
+++++++++++++++++++
When there is no reason to be peaceful, be peaceful. For that
is when your peacefulness can have the greatest positive influence.
The world around you is often in turmoil. You do not have to make
that turmoil your own by joining it or fighting against it.
For a moment, put everything out of your mind and think of nothing.
Stop your thoughts before they start, and enjoy the serenity of just
being. Then, put back into your mind only those things upon which
you truly wish to focus. Give peace a place to take hold in you,
and it will.
To be peaceful you need no particular effort or circumstance. When
you let the noise, the concerns, the anxieties drop away, peace
flows in to fill the void.
Be peaceful, especially when the world around you is not so
peaceful. And experience the powerful positive difference it
always makes.
