SCHNAUZERLAND
SERVICES
Here
at Schnauzerland, we love and appreciate all breeds, but our main focus
is miniature and giant schnauzers, especially our own puppies we've sold.
We
provide grooming and boarding services for your schnauzer. Other breeds
are accepted by referral or approval; we limit our boarding to schnauzers
and established non-schnauzer grooming customers.
GROOMING
Appointments are required for both grooming
and boarding, so call ahead and reserve your spot.
Grooming your schnauzer is of utmost importance
to us.
After all, a haircut can make or break
the dog.
We have many, many schnauzer clients who
come to us from out of town and even out of state for their schnauzer’s
haircuts.
We try to be a notch above the others in
our grooming.
Prices:
$40 is our start price for the miniature
schnauzer and all other small dogs.
$45 is our start price for over-sized miniatures
and standard schnauzers.
$60 is our giant's price if coat has been
kept up at home. Clip downs
and major scissoring on Giants takes more time and we charge accordingly. These prices include the haircut (as close
to standards as possible, or modified to suit individual tastes), ear hair
plucked, nails trimmed, hygiene area clipped, pads shaved, bath, anal glands
expressed, brushed and finishing touches. We take a moment to critique
every dog we groom when we are done to be sure that we have added all the
final touches.
$15-$30— We do Bath & Brush and hygiene
on long hair breeds and schnauzers that need that fresh look in between
haircuts.
We do have additional fees for special
baths such as flea, deep medication or moisturizing baths.
An important Rule in our
Shop!!!
If your pet comes in our shop with fleas,
it gets a flea bath regardless of any other baths, and this includes Boarding
dogs too! If boarders come into our shop with fleas, we give them a flea
bath the day they come in; we charge for this bath in addition to any other
charges for grooming and/or bath on pick up day when scheduled.
And yes, we have a special shampoo we use
on those dogs with schnauzer bumps, caused by allergies or dry skin or
fleas.
As mentioned before, our haircuts are,
as close to standard as possible, meaning, your schnauzer will look like
it supposed to according to the "books".
We do not, however, do any hand stripping
only pet "clippering".
We try to make the grooming experience
as pleasant as possible for your friend.
Grooming is a necessary part of being a
schnauzer. A puppy is never too young to start learning the grooming process.
Please be a good parent and expose your puppy to regular grooming and brushing.
We recommend that puppies should be groomed every 6 weeks (or more often
if you have a nervous or shy puppy) for the first year of their life. This
way they grow up being familiar with the whole grooming process.
Take note! DE-MATTING has been eliminated
from our services!
This is painful on your pet/friend AND
they hate us for doing it to them. If you bring us a matted dog it will
be shaved, and a very nice face scissored. We do try very hard to save
their faces. This is the part you see first when they are looking at you.
If your pet is matted, please understand
that you need to be kind to your best friend, let us take down his coat
so we can instruct you on how to properly brush and maintain it as it grows.
Keeping your pre-scheduled grooming appointments will take care of this
problem most of the time.
If you cannot keep your friend brushed
out at home, we can do an in between bath, brush and hygiene, every 2-3
weeks or so.
If you have an old or ailing dog and all
this clipping, brushing, blow-drying and maintenance is too much for him/her
to bear, a short neat, clip is much easier on them in their golden years.
Our grooming is by appointment only, on Thursday and Friday. We are closed on Wednesday, Saturday and
Sunday.
Drop off is 10am unless otherwise noted/pick up is 4:00-5:30 PM.
We do have one Saturday every 6 weeks that
we groom some of our schnauzers that cannot come thru the week or come
from out of the area. If you have a Saturday appointment, and cannot make
it, please call several days in advance for cancellation. This way you
time slot can be given to someone else. Saturday bookings are very limited.
If you miss then it will be 6 weeks before another booking. Saturday drop
off is from 10-11am and the pick up times vary. The groomer will give you
a precise pick up time that morning.
Once again, we do other limited breeds
by approval or referral from clients. But sorry no cats.
Also from time to time we have pet photographers
come in and this is open to all pets both feathered, scaly, or furry.
BOARDING
$10 per day for the miniature schnauzer
$10 per day for our giant schnauzers (This
is the only large breed dog we board except for a very few old clients).
We charge for the entire stay, this includes
drop off and pick up day.
We recommend that you have your grooming
scheduled to be on pick up day, so that your friend can return home smelling
sweet and looking beautiful. Playing here is fun because we let them play
like children, getting wet in our little doggie pools, and playing hard
in our courtyard, so baths on pick up day are highly recommended.
We regret
to say that we are not accepting any new boarding customers at this time
that we are not grooming.
Our boarding requirements:
That you bring your pet’s own food. We
don’t like to change diet. Change of diet can upset the tummy and bowels.
This is not enjoyable for your pet or us.
Also, we ask that you bring an old towel
that "smells" like home.
We use this at bedtime for the first night
or two so that your pet can snuggle into bedding that smells like home.
This provides a sense of security should your pet be scared or nervous.
Also this towel goes into our laundry to be recycled and used by all our
boarding pets. We always furnish some type bedding for your friend to sleep
on, and these towels keep our supply replenished.
Please do not bring items such as pillows,
bedding, blankets, or any items holding sentimental value to you or your
dog as they get soiled, thrown in the laundry and we do not look through
it for special items. We do allow one toy, that if you can remember to
ask for it, we will certainly look for it. Also, left behind toys are shared.
Most importantly, our boarding facility
is a very social one.
Our boarders are kept in a fenced in courtyard
for play, weather permitting, during the day and of course brought in and
kenneled inside at night and for meals. We allow social interaction and
as much as possible as we feel this is essential to the mental health of
all dogs, which are "pack" animals by nature. We do introduce new pets
into this play area on a monitored basis until they become accustomed to
the routine and accept it. We have found that they adapt very quickly to
having fun and getting to play. Also this playtime makes your schnauzer
want to come back for more fun at our "doggie" daycare.
Please take into consideration before booking
an appointment; if your schnauzer is not spayed or neutered, this needs
to be brought to our attention prior to booking. Certain precautions need
to be taken in these situations.
ALL boarders are required to be up to date
on vaccinations including Bordetella (Kennel Cough) This vaccination is
good for 6 months.
To make either your grooming or boarding
appointment, please call us during working hours. You can leave us a message
on our answering machine, but please call back to confirm this appointment.
Thanks for taking the time to check out
our services page, and we hope that we can help you with your schnauzers'
needs in the grooming or boarding services.
To check on these services or if you have
any questions, you can go to our contact page for our e-mail address and
phone number. Our hours for business are 8am to 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday. We are closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. We
do check e-mails often and on the days we are closed.
A thought to
remember:
"Happiness is
something that comes into our lives through doors that we
didn't even remember
leaving open." - Maybe it was a doggie door:)
God Bless you,
